It's highly glycemic food - which means - it turns into sugar in your blood rapidly. this calls out HUGE amounts of insulin from your pancreas to deal with all this blood sugar. Insulin itself makes you sleepy/tired. But also insulin knocks the blood sugar down - and that then leaves you with LOW blood sugar - and that makes you sleepy and trembling and weird.
This is the road to diabetes.... So if you have a lot of this, think about the Atkins diet where you don't eat stuff like pizza anymore.

technically, there is sugar. it comes from the ingredients in stuff like the tomato sauce (to balance out the acidity of the tomatoes), and also from the grain in the crust when your body digests it. the yeast could also be making you tired, seeing as it was leftovers. a night on the counter gives it time to ferment, so that could be making you sleepy.Why does eating pizza make me feel sleepy and tired?
my friend had the same thing with bread then he realized he had a wheat allergy. it could be also a glutin allergy
Your room mate crushed up sleeping pills and sprinkled it on top of the leftover pizza.
sounds like the beer you drank rather than the pizza, I always get sleepy with pizza
