If i dont eat any other starches, other than oats at breakfast, is it harmful to my health?

i eat a big bowl of jungle oats for breakfast, fruit during the morning, yohurt and cheese during the afternoon, and veggies for dinner and some night meat.... is the lack of carbs toward the end o a day a bad thing?

this is an average day, there are days where i'll have pizza or a donut, but not often, just moderately.

i drink green tea and water during the day...

is this a good diet?|||I would seriously recommend going here: Http://thehealthfreak.co.cc

It has answers to more than you think and the forums are really really useful|||IF you are going to eat carbs, then morning is the best time. I am more concerned with calories, protein %26amp; fat consumption - it sure doesn't look like you are getting enough of anything. Fat won't make you fat, but a low fat, high carb diet sure will. Insufficient calories will shut your metabolism down. Make sure your yogurt is full fat but sugar free and add lots of butter to vegs at night. Fat is required not only for good health %26amp; hormones %26amp; immune function, it is required to make vitamins %26amp; minerals in your foods bioavailable so they can be incorporated into the body structure.

I have started adding ground flax seed or chia seed to about everything. They are both incredibly nutritious. Chia seeds swell up when soaked and remind me of tapioca with a strawberry seed inside. They really have no taste but I love the texture. No other whole grain compares on a nutritional level, and it has an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) that is greater than blueberries on a per-gram basis (80 micromole TE/d). I let them sit on the counter to soak for 12 hours this "sprouts" them and raises the ORAC level 2.5x higher.

I think they are much more nutritious raw and add them to salads %26amp; tuna as well as making faux tapioca regularly. I also add them to cooked food for bulk but prefer to use flax seed for cooked food. Flax seed has a slight taste to it but chia seed is tasteless so it doesn't change the flavor of foods the way flax seed would. In Mexico, they add chia seed to lemonade and call it chia fresca and it is addicting. I was getting 400% of my daily requirement of fiber by drinking this and have to regulate my intake, but it is fun.

I have been making a "porridge" every day lately as suggested by Dr.Mercola. A low carb whey powder %26amp; water, I add ground flax seeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, coconut milk, tahini (ground sesame seeds) %26amp; raw egg. All seeds %26amp; nuts are raw %26amp; soaked to germinate them.

Chia seeds sound so expensive but 1# will make 10# food - Amazon.com has couple lbs. for $16 shipped to you. I buy in bulk (24#) from getchia.com for $6# with free shipping.

Faux tapioca - 2 cups of water, 5 scoops of low carb whey protein powder, stir together %26amp; add cup of chia seeds, after they have started to absorb the water, add in 2 cans of coconut milk %26amp; sweetener if you like and mix it all in. Can be eaten after an hour but will be better tomorrow. Cream a pkg. of cream cheese into a can of pumpkin and add to the faux tapioca for an even more nutritious pumpkin pie pudding.

Ground flax seed (2 Tbsp) 1/4 cup water, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min. to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle %26amp; nuke 2 minutes. For daily fiber needs.

Is it ok to eat pizza thats been out all night?

My friend who is a doc said its ok idk if it is. It has cheese thats it its 28 degrees out i have it near the window and i have a fan i was thinking about opening the window a little bc they heat is on and i hate heat so would it be ok for breakfast or not.|||According to the health department, no its not safe to eat if it was kept in the danger zone. The danger zone is the temperature range of 41 F - 140 F. Room temperature is about 70 F.

Restaurants are required to discard any food left in the danger zone for more than 4 hours.|||To Betty: Piss.

Pizza that's been left out all night is fine. We tested a Pizza Hut Supreme Pizza using USFDA guidelines after it had been left in the lunch room of our uni faculty and found that it met the minimum standards 9 weeks later.

Pizza Hut, Dominos and McDonald's et al, use so much preservatives up to the eyeballs, that you probably could leave a pizza out for six months and it'd still be fine.

Just nuke it in the microwave first to kill any of the microorganisms that may have survived overnight and you'll be fine.|||ive eaten pizza left out over night many nights after partying, you will be fine, the pizza might be a little dried out though|||Cold food should be around 40 degrees and hot food 140. Anything in between is a danger zone and the food is not safe to eat|||As long as there is no fish on it heck ya its still good.|||No you shouldn't. you shouldve kept it refrigerated.|||No, you should have put the pizza in the fridge after it cooled down.|||Not safe.

Throw it away.|||its best not to eat it.|||I wouldnt eat it

Why do people complain about being fat but keep eating crap?

I don't get it. Why can't they just get off their butts and go exercise and stop eating pizza for breakfast. Losing weight is so simple but nobody really wants to do it...so they complain about being fat? I'm so confused, why do you think this is?|||I'm with you on this one. People tend to think that losing weight and getting fit is something that requires temporary effort, while it really is a lifestyle change. If you stop looking at exercise as a chore and make it part of your daily life, it will hopefully become more fun. I know it has for me.|||I can understand as an outsider looking in it seems that simple, but as a previous 'fat' person it's not as easy as it sounds.. Firstly they have developed bad eating habits over the course of years and as such your body craves the foods you have been pouring into it, when you cut those things out it becomes very hard to resist those cravings.

Secondly there is correcting the reasons why they over eat such as emotional eating, boredom eating etc.. It is a very hard habit to break once your used to eating that way. I always said for those people who are very overweight, you have to hit rock bottom before you can become completley commited to changing your life. You have to understand they have to be totally willing to change their entire way of living to become a healthy individual and that takes a great deal of will power and commitment.|||Well. There could be alot of reasons. To eat actually healthy foods, you have to actually put effort in to looking at what your purchasing to eat. Some people get really depressed and overeat just because they temporarily feel better. There's food easy to get anywhere in a hurry, which many are, but its all terrible for you (i.e mcdonalds, burger king, arbys etc.). So losing weight is "simple', but its not easy.

  • Ideas for cheap and easy meal for a family?

I am babysitting my siblings and have a limited budget and need ideas for dinner. We have chicken, pizza and breakfast for dinner a lot so I am trying to think of something that is simply but different. Any ideas?|||SOUP! Inexpensive for the most part, typically healthy and tons of options. My husband and I both love to cook and we have come up with a wide variety of combinations most costing less than 5 dollars for a huge pot. If you have younger siblings, chicken flavors go well, use "fun" noodle shapes and they can help cook. My little sister is 7 and although she's a picky eater, she'll try just about anything that she was able to help with.

Rice and noodle casseroles can be cost effective too. Take precooked rice or noodles, your choice of veggies, your choice of meat (I use canned or leftover chicken mostly), a can of cream of your choice soup, and some cheese for a topping. Stick it in the oven until everything is thoroughly warmed and serve. Again, this is something that children can help with.|||How about tacos that you can make w/ beans, chicken or hamburger, taco mix, lettuce, cheese, salsa if you like it? Or a good big pot of spaghetti that will give you lunches for a couple of days too? You really can do a lot of stuff w/ chicken, but your sibs will like soup and sandwich night, and you can do that easily. Sloppy Joes are good, filling and cheap. So is a pot of chili w/ cornbread, and mix some corn into the cornbread mix - extra vegie. Tuna Noodle casserole, or chicken (canned) instead of the tuna, w/ mushroom soup, peas, egg noodles and sliced hardboiled egg? clean out the frige and make soup, you can find good recipes at miserlymoms.com, hillbillyhousewife.com, and Womansday.com|||Mac N Cheese! im watching my weight and i dont normally eat late, should i skip breakfast?|||you should not skip breakfast.

if you want pizza, order a thin crust with a little cheese and tons of veggies (leave out olives though... they're pretty high in calories). you could also see if they offer salads on their menu.

and that's BS about your body taking in more fat from your meal if you skip breakfast. you will however tend to eat more (or overeat) at your next meal, because you'll be hungrier.

    good luck!

PS: don't kill yourself if you treat yourself to pizza now and then. but keep in mind that it's a treat, not something you should have regularly.|||Don't skip meals.

Try to get a thin crust, and see if you can order something with less cheese and more sauce.|||No skipping breakfast its the most important meal of the day...

instead eat a healthy breakfast andlunch and you'll be fine.

PS If you want to have pizza at home make it yourself theres alot less greeze which is bad for you|||see if they offer salads.

don't skip breakfast, it will only make your body absorb more fat from the pizza!

if your body hasn't had any fuel in the morning, then it will freak out and absorb loads in case it goes without fuel again so it has stores.|||Don't skip breakfast, you need to make a habit of eating it everyday after you wake up to lose weight. Eat a filling snack, like a low fat yogurt or apple with skin, before going out to lower chance's of overeating. Order a thin crust. Check to see if they offer nutritional information while your there, or if they have a website, check that out. Order a pizza with less cheese, and lots of vegetable's, but no olive's. Ham and chicken are the leanest meat's you can have on a pizza, but I would avoid them anyone, since if they don't offer nutritional information, you don't how much fat and calories it could have so I would play it safe and have no meat on the pizza. Check to see if they offer smaller slice's of pizza.|||Do not skip breakfast or any meals for that matter. Just order thin crust and skip toppings like extra cheese, pepperoni, beef, sausage, any kind of topping that would be greasy. Try to get veggies on the pizza and limit yourself to 2 slices. You can pair it with a side salad with lite italian dressing.

Why is my stomach growling? I ate plenty of food today? For breakfast I had a roll and Starbucks, for lunch I?

went by a local pizza buffet and had 1 slice of pizza, salad and a spoon of pasta. I shared a slice of dessert pizza with my husband. About an hour ago I had some Ritz crackers. So obviously, I have eaten numerous times today and I do not understand why my stomach won't shut up! Because I will NOT eat again!|||You've eaten alot of simple carbohydrates today, which basically just make you very hungry again - quickly.

Try some proteins, veggies and/or complex carbs/wholegrains.

:)|||Most likely, the meals are high in carbs %26amp; did not contain adequate amounts of fibre and protein . And having alot of white carbs (like regular pasta) and sugary foods which release energy quickly into your body, can result in the need to snack shortly after.

To prevent unwanted hunger again, try adjusting the meals next time
    For example:
    * For breakfast - choose a wholegrain roll, spread with tahini/hummus and filled with lean meat, perhaps an egg and some vegetables.
Choose a healthy drink at starbucks, which doesn't have alot of added sugar.
*Lunch - Choose a slice of vegetarian pizza, with a minimal amount of cheese. Only eat a small portion of the pasta %26amp; choose a salad with added lean protein.
    * The next time you feel like eating crackers, choose a wholegrain variety %26amp; use a protein-rich spread like natural peanut butter, low-fat cottage cheese, tahini or hummus. Or top it with lean meat or canned fish (in springwater).
    * And drink plenty of water between meals|||your tummy probably wants decent food because what you did eat today was mostly crap and not enough calories.

You had few veggies, little whole grain anything, The starbucks was empty calories, the Ritz crackers is basically fat held together with flour.

Tomorrow have a bowl of whole grain cereal with skim milk and an OJ along with your coffee.

For lunch have a LARGE salad with 3 ounces of baked chicken on it and add a yogurt and fruit for dessert.

For a snack, have an apple or banana or a hand full of almonds.

Then there is supper. you need more veggies, a low fat protein source, a whole grain carbohydrate and fruit for dessert.

Have a yogurt for a bedtime snack.

you won't be hungry all day long.|||Your stomach is most likely isn't growling since you ate pliantly today. Your stomach is digesting all the food you ate and it's having a hard time. I was thinking of adding a weekend breakfast and pizza but doing research I find most small resterants sell everything..I believe I should just try to be perfect with a few food items. The place is only a carryout (900sg ft) and I plan on having outdoor seating.|||With a few exceptions (Cheesecake Factory and East Coast diners) trying to have a huge menu just creates huge headaches (a lot to learn, a lot to manage- ingredients, etc, hard to train the staff, etc.) . And even Cheesecake Factory has a positioning (what they stand for).

Unless you are an amazing chef, which you might be, you should make sure you stand for something (pick a specialty) so the customers can easily understand why they should come to your store ('Oh, I go to (insert name) for really great (insert item or category)"). Then think about what that suggests you would have to offer to really be that to people and see if that makes sense.

What you stand for should fill in for you what items you should have on your menu. "I stand for great food" is not an answer. It also should help decide the look and feel of your establishment since fine dining and plastic chairs don't go together very well and the opposite is an odd concept, too (white tableclothes and cheap snack food).|||I am sooo envious! Where is your restaurant? Would you like a working partner? Ha. Really. OK.. to reality. What equipment do you have, already? What labor resources? How much money do you have to "invest" in new ideas? My experience screams, keep it very simple! Are you in a tourist area? Outdoor seating is always nice. Pizza (pronounced /ˈpiːtsə/ listen (help·info), in Italian: ['pit.tsa]) is the name of an oven-baked, flat, usually round bread that is usually covered with tomatoes or a tomato-based sauce and often mozzarella cheese, with other toppings added according to region, culture or personal preference. While originating as a part of Neapolitan cuisine, the dish has become popular in many different parts of the world. A shop or restaurant where pizzas are made and sold is called a "pizzeria" (from Italian) although the phrase "pizza parlor" is also used in the United States.

Various toppings may be added, most typically:

    sauce, although traditionally tomato-based, pesto, alfredo and barbecue sauce are also used;

    cheese, usually mozzarella but also provolone or a blend of other cheeses;

    herbs and seasonings such as basil, oregano and black pepper;

    fruits and vegetables such as garlic, artichoke hearts, mushrooms, eggplant, olives, onions, spinach, bell peppers, chilli peppers and pineapple;

    meat, such as sausage (pepperoni, salami or Italian sausage), ham, bacon, ground beef, and chicken, or seafood such as anchovies, tuna, and shrimp;

In some pizza recipes the tomato sauce is omitted (termed "white pizza"), or replaced with another sauce (usually garlic butter, but sauces can also be made with spinach or onions). In the Philadelphia area there are also tomato pies — sauce only, or sauce with ripe Roma tomatoes and spices but no cheese — and upside-down pizzas, i.e., the cheese on the bottom and topped with sauce. Pizza is normally eaten hot (typically at lunch or dinner), but is sometimes eaten as cold leftovers.

What would you make/have for a breakfast bake sale?

Every student organization always has bake sales at least twice a year to raise money for their group, or for a cause they are sponsoring. The thing is, though, everyone always brings the same things.

So, I was thinking of having themed bake sales, and one of them was a fall-themed breakfast bake sale, since these usually start in the morning when students are just arriving on campus.

If you were me, or if you were buying from a breakfast bake sale, what would you want to have? Mini blueberry pancakes? Apple-pie muffins? French toast sticks? Little breakfast pizzas? Crustless pb%26amp;j in different shapes? Bagel sandwiches? Anything with eggs in it? What about drinks?

Any ideas would be great. Thanks!|||My first choice of the things you listed would be a bagel if you had a decent selection of cream cheeses. My next choice would be a muffin. I'd consider buying something with eggs only if you had a breakfast meat available as well.

If I had to personally bake one item to sell, it would probably be cheese biscuits because they seem to go over very well with a crowd. Croissants with butter, jam, or marmalade are lightly filling while heavy in calories but also pretty popular. And let us not forget that Cinnabon built a nationwide industry around cinnamon rolls so that would have to be a best selling item.

The only thing that I can thing of that is a little out of the ordinary is this baked roll up of a crescent type dough, ground sausage, and cheese that my mom used to make when I was a kid. I don't know what it's called or how to make it, but I'd definitely buy it if you sold it. I'm not a baker by any stretch of the imagination, but maybe you know what I'm talking about.|||Those are all good things you mentioned to make for a breakfast bake sale.

I have some others for you to think about:

Pigs in a Blanket (use breakfast sausage and wrap them in either a pancake with a toothpick or wrap them in the Pillsbury crescent rolls and bake them).

Breakfast burritos (eggs, chorizo (optional), sausage, bacon, hash browns cheese with salsa).

Drinks: The grocery store has those milks that Starbuck sells that don't need refridgeration and they make regular flavor, chocolate and vanilla. Then juices (orange, cranberry., apple)

Good luck.|||blueberry muffins, french toast sticks would be nice, cinnamon waffles, egg wrap so you could do egg n bacon then wrap them in a pancake, bagel sandwitches would be nice, for drinks do some coffee, iced tea, and hot chocolate would be nice (when you make it if you have any vanilla extract add a drop to each cup it makes a big difference), mini applie pies, or you could do apple crumble n add a lil fruit salad on the side|||Muffins in different flavors: chocolate chip, blueberry, cranberry orange, lemon poppy, banana walnut, etc. Slices of breakfast pizza. Croque monsieur (have a panini grill on hand). Fruit smoothies (have a blender on hand). Quiche and cinnamon rolls (like the others mentioned) are great ideas too.|||Definitely stick with baked goods. Unless you have some way of cooking eggs, etc. at the bake sale, they're not going to turn out well...and people are not going to buy them.

Stick with the fall-themed breakfast bake sale, but instead go for things like pumpkin muffins, cinnamon rolls, apple muffins, banana walnut bread....baked goods that just scream "fall" but that will also hold up well for the few hours that you'll be selling them.

After all, no one wants to buy lukewarm eggs and cold, stale bagels!|||make a quiche breakfast sale! Quiche can be made vegetarian, low fat, low salt, low cholesterol...endless variety. Good hot or cold, too!|||I wouldn't buy anything baked.

I WOULD buy a breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese and ham or bacon with a side of salsa.

I'm also a big fan of deli sandwiches (the kind with salty Italian meats) or ramen noodles for breakfast. Ooh, or BLT sandwiches...that's almost a breakfast food, right?

I really crave saltiness in the morning - never sweets. They just upset my stomach too much, so I save my donuts and cereal for lunch or dinner.|||I like to eat Ramen noodles for breakfast. If you eat fat food in the early morning will you gain a lot of weight?

For example: I wake up every morning at 6am. If i eat a slice of pizza for breakfast and then some pie will i gain a lot of weight?? Or will that just be the energy i would be consuming into my body for the rest of the day? And since i would be eating that stuff really early wouldn't i just burn off all of those calories later in my day??|||If you eat fat food in the morning every day, yes you will gain weight. Fat food in general, no matter what time of day, will aid in the process of gaining weight. Stick to something like oatmeal and a cup of fresh strawberries :)|||Yes you get fatter. lunch pizza or a tv dinner

    supper spaghetti

    I don't eat any fruit.

    I drink 1 glass a water a day

thats pretty much my diet and i have like 5cookies and 1 candy bar a day|||I have a feeling this isn't a serious question, but I'll answer anyway.

You need more fiber in your diet- most people don't get enough but aiming for 20-25 grams a day is ideal.

Add some fruits and vegetables to your diet. It should help. Or if you must, get some Benefiber to supplement the fiber you are missing.|||You should eat some fruits and veggies

For breakfast its ok but add some juice or milk to it (to drink)

drink at least 2 or 3 glasses of water every day

and cut back on the cookies, have 1 big cookie or 2 small ones and 1/2 a big candy bar or 1 small candy bar

hope that helped|||Seems to me like you're pretty young... you definitely should have more dairy, yogurt is good and it has fiber. Apples are good for constipation too. Maybe you can have apple flavored yogurt or something. Gogurts are good. Fiber is important too. If you are in college or older your food choices aren't healthy and you should try to get more nutrients. A few main things you should add to your diet are apples (for constipation) banana's (for potassium) and meats (for protein).|||You don't need to go on any diet. Just drink LOTS and LOTS of water, and eat more heathy. Instead of cereal for breakfest eat a banana or some fruit, for lunch instead of pizza, eat a sandwich or a salad or some soup. For dinner, instaed of spagetti, eat chicken breast with salad, or a vegetable lasagna. Lay off the sweets. You can have a cookie a day. No candy. Very rarely drink soda or energy drinks. They are loaded with sugar. Try to not eat alot of cheese if you are constipated.

    Hope I could help,

Carly.|||You need more water than 1 glass a day. Try to drink eight 8-ounce glasses a day. Just keep water available and sip on it ever so often. You'll be surprised at how easy it will be to get all that water down.

It would help if you added more fiber to your diet. If you can't get that through food (veggies, etc.) then buy some fiber pills. Add the fiber slowly otherwise you'll end up getting cramps. Start off with 1 pill a day and increase by 1 pill every 3-4 days until you are up to the recommended dosage. Good luck!|||Well, when I was on pretty much your diet I suffered from constipation a lot.

    To repeat here:

    YFJA -

Aah, you need my lack of cooking lessons. On a toaster oven tray put the mazto, spread with sauce thick as on a pizza, top with sliced or grated cheese %26amp; broil till it bubbles. The mazto softens %26amp; it all tastes good together. Probably on 350 deg. so it softens before the cheese is ready.

Beyond that, the week does include a lot, a lot matza. I made "blondies" cookie bars to try out. Has lots of sugar %26amp; butter %26amp; flavor, %26amp; only one cup of matza meal...but still mazto is all you could taste.

    ----

    EDIT:

I discovered a new trick for desserts. For pie crust, roast almonds, then pulverize, before mixing with cake meal (%26amp; butter, sugar, etc.). Result - the almond flavor actually overwhelms so you can't taste the matza! But the matza gives it bulk. I have a great apple crisp recipe, but I couldn't make it again for I think the 8th year in a row.

some people say i dont look 100 lbs..they say i look 89 ._. but thats cus i have more muscles than fat so i weigh more than i look.|||Well, you are eating to fast so when u eat 2 fast it just stays in your stomach until u poop it out so.... what you should do is eat slower exerice and plus+ asians are little and most of the time healthy and skinny. Some of them can be Strong and others can be weak its just we are diffrient people get use 2 it.... THATS THE REASON WHY UR SO SKINNY... thank you for the time.|||eat more foods that are higher in calories, not fat.

What should I eat to get taller? For breakfast, lunch and dinner.?

I recently started doing excersizes and stretching. Now i just need to know what to eat. I'm really determined to get tall. Oo and i have a question, does pizza and mc donalds make you shorter, or makes you stop growing.|||No, its all genetics.|||Well obviously black people = tall, and black people eat fried chickenz. So when you see a black person who is tall buying fried chickenz take your magnets to aquire his fried chicken and eat it. There you go INFINITE GROWING!|||There is nothing you can do to make yourself taller. It's all about genetics. You either got it or you don't just be happy with what you have.|||you cant decide to get taller hgh. human growth hormone buddy. expensive but will work better than stretching. and diet has nothing to do with it.|||Eat lots and lots of protein and drink a lot more water.|||eggs, lunch meat sandwiches, and meat.|||drink more milk

Is it ok if i eat a slice of pizza tonight if im on a diet?

    im on a diet and i havent ate real food in a while and im really craving for a slice of pizza! will it affect me if i have it? i havent really eaten a lot today;

    breakfast: honeynut cherios

    Lunch: V8 and a banana

Lunch: i want pizza!!!!!|||No, it is totally fine to have A piece of pizza. It is when people eat too much pizza that it is bad. Most people need at least 1200 calories a day just for their bodies to function. You have eaten around 400 calories (if you ate a normal serving size of cherrioes.)

If you eat under what your body needs to function, you will not lose weight, your body will go into starvation mode and burn muscle and store fat!

Try googling "1200 calorie meal plans" to see what you should be eating at the minimum.|||Why don't you go on a diet of real food? If your body is craving something, it's probably not getting what it needs. Carbohydrates like breakfast cereal and fruit require your body to use up B vitamins and minerals during their digestion. They raise your insulin levels, which triggers fat storage and leads to hunger. Gluten can also cause autoimmune damage your intestinal lining, making it impossible to absorb nutrition from anything. No wonder you're not satisfied!

Have some pepperoni and cheese, skip the pizza crust.|||YES! You can eat anything you want on a diet IN MODERATION.

Here's the easiest way to diet... worked for me.

Take the weight you want to be... say 130lbs

    then multiply by 10 ... = 1300

That is how many calories you need a day to maintain THAT weight.

If you are 150lbs and want to lose 20lbs to get to 130lbs you need a deficiency of 3500 calories per pound. Instead of doing all of that work just take the weight you want to be, times it by 10 and take in that many calories a day... healthy ways of course... and eventually you will reach that weight!|||you poor soul. You're actually starving your body, which is why you are craving so badly. Eat the pizza. Then start off tomorrow with a hearty breakfast. Eggs or oatmeal (which has really good cholesterol benefits, and with cinnamon, helps control blood sugar), then eat a little more healthier for your other two meals. Don't eat until you are stuffed, just eat what you can moderately fit on your plate. Just to satisfaction. ANd, avoid heavy meals with lots of carbs at night time. You're body doesn't use this well when it's sleeping.|||Eat a slice or two of pizza! Don't starve yourself. Allow your self treats in MODERATION. A slice or two will not hurt your diet.

I allow myself a piece of chocolate every day and pizza once a week. IT hasn't stopped me from losing 30 pounds in a few months.

Good luck on your diet!|||if you eat 1 slice of pizza it wont hurt you

in fact if you eat 1 food serving as a "splurge" once a week you'll stay on your diet a little better. My brother lost 156 pounds dieting with a splurge once a week. the splurge kept him on the diet

good luck|||um not really|||Yes. Eat a piece and get over your craving. Can you stop at just one slice though??

Why does CICI's pizza give us diarrhea? Is it the cheese, sauce, bread, or is it the oil they use?

At first I thought it was just something I ate before the pizza. So i let that one pass. The second time my coworkers wanted to try it, and sure enough the next day diarrhea. I thought that's weird. The third time my husband wanted it and again diarrhea. I thought I just had a weak stomach, but I asked if he had the same problem, and he said YES. He had also thought it was something earlier that day, but nope its the pizza. To test our theory out, we tried it again but no breakfast and pizza for lunch, and leftover pizza for dinner. And same as before, diarrhea. Not only that but each time our belly's rumbled furiously, as if we had eaten rotten meat or something. Are we the only ones to experience this?|||i dont know where you are going to (what state) but i used to eat it all the time here in IL..and i never got sick from it. I was always ordered out though, never ate at the restaurant. I cant tell you what is causing the problem, bad cheese will not do that to you, sauce may.. only frying oil will go bad.. Im sorry you are having that problem, im sure you know what my advice is.. dont eat there anymore.. and if you are ballsy enough, complain to the management. (since you can say you tested it, and tried it on more than one occasion.)

What Was The Last Thing You Had For Breakfast That Wasn't Breakfast Food?

the frozen pizza prob has a ton of extra calories and preservatives

Why is it that once you grow up you don't eat the stuff you always wish you could eat as a kid?

I should be eating cocoa pebbles for breakfast and pizza the rest of the time now that I have disposable income and can do whatever I want!|||yeah i lhave noticed the lack of ice cream and chicken nuggets in my freezer x)|||Well, the sad truth is that the stuff most of us craved as kids really isn't very healthy for us. Example, how many kids crave a banana or apple? Most of the kids want foods with high sugar and fat contents, but have virtually no nutritious values. Granted, most producers of cereal these days fortify their products with vitamins, they haven't done much about cutting the sugar. When you get older, your body changes and its need changes. As metabolisms slow down, if exercise doesn't increase then fat does. So....I recommend that you enjoy your cocoa pebbles and pizza in addition to lots of other healthier foods!|||Because now we know better. Coca pebbles and pizza means lots of empty calories that translates into weight gain for needed exercises. Besides that, I have found that as I get older my test buds changes. I prefer a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast and a nice salad for lunch. That's just me.|||If I could still eat like a pig and be stick thin like I was back then I would be having captain crunch and ice cream every day, but that's just not how it is.|||Because it is unrealistic.|||Hopefully it's because we are wiser!

    ;-p

I only eat raisin bran and pizza everyday, is this bad?

Yes raisin bran and pizza are all I have during the day. I also frequently have watermelon as well. For example-breakfast, organic raisin bran with flax seed with organic milk with watermelon on the side. I wait 30 minutes then I have 1-2 pieces of pizza. For lunch- 2 pieces of pizza with a crap load of watermelon. For dinner- 2 pieces of pizza with a crap load of watermelon. I wait about 2 hours then I have a big bowl of organic raisin bran (same as breakfast). The pizza is always from pizza hut and the supreme kind (everything on it. I work out everyday (either lift weights or run). Is this bad?|||It's not good. You might be missing some vitamins or other nutrients with such a limited diet.|||I dont know if its bad, but I would not recommend it. You would definitely need some greens. Greens have chlorophyll which contain oxygen that your body needs. Also a good variety of raw vegetables and fruit for anti-inflammatory agents as well as energy. Fat is also good for the exercises you do (weight lifting included) because they are energy dense and support your organs and muscles. Avocados and maybe some raw peanuts and/or sunflower seeds could be a good choice.|||Eat the same thing every day = go nuts. Sounds like you're getting very near that point if all you eat is raisin bran, pizza, and watermelon. You should know you've reached it when you start putting the raisin bran on the pizza.|||I think yes, you shouldn't eat pizza every day because it is not healthy for you, beans are good, but it is better to change your meal every day or so.

hope this helps.|||Yes. Your body needs a variety of foods in order to maintain a healthy function|||You need protein from nuts and beans

Is it ok that i eat another slice of pizza|||You probably didn't take in too many calories today but I don't think you're eating a well balanced diet either. More lean meat, veggies, and fruit will balance it out a bit. Save the pizza for tomorrow and have a high protein snack tonight.|||I wouldnt

I think eating after 7:00 is not such a great idea. Try drinking somthing you will be better off Diet soda or water. or just sleep it off|||homemade pizza oh man, now your making me hungry :P

Is it better to not eat lunch or eat junk food like pizza everyday?

i play water polo and i hav a protein shake for breakfast and usually a good dinner. but at school i have to eat the crappy cafeteria food|||y not bring lunch to school?

im sure schools nowadays have healthier food|||It's really better to get a good homemade lunch but if you cant then i guess you could just pack some energy bars like Kashi bars, something that provides protein, fiber, whole grains, that kind of stuff.|||You could take your own lunch to school. It's not that hard. I took my own lunch to school when I was in highschool.|||While eating junk food isn't good for you, its just as bad not to eat lunch. Your body needs nutrients. To stay healthy, you can always pack your lunch and take it to school.|||i say better not to eat than to eat junk|||If you are playing any sport it is better to eat crappy cafeteria food over not eating anything at all. One piece of pizza is NOT that bad for you. Try getting one with some kind of vegetable on it if it is offered or opt for just cheese pizza. One piece is usually about 240-300 calories so it is not as bad as you would think. It might not give you much variety but anything is better than nothing|||It's better to eat 1200+ calories than not eat that much. Just eat one slice of pizza. The water polo will burn off all the calories.

*Do you sometimes have last night's left overs for breakfast?

It's almost lunch but I haven't had breakfast. Would you like a slice of pizza? (-:|||Cold, leftover pizza is awesome for breakfast!

I can eat healthy for breakfast and lunch, but when dinner time comes I lose control, why?

I have no problems eating well balanced, healthy meals for breakfast and lunch, but as soon as dinner time comes, I lose all self control and pig out. What is wrong with me? I always want pizza or greasy foods and then some sort of dessert! I've been able to control myself in the past, but lately it's gotten out of control! I'll even exercise every day, but then I swear my dinner wipes out any benefits the exercise might have had... How can I control myself???|||You're too hungry when dinner time comes. Maybe that's because you don't eat enough during the day. Continue to eat healthy foods for breakfast and lunch, but maybe have a second helping of whatever it Is. Or else have a little snack in the afternoon to curb your appetite for dinner.|||try eating a bigger breakfast and lunch, you are probably really hungry by dinner time. however, if you crave something, try eating just a 1/4 of a portion just to get you over the cravings. I have that dessert problem as well. I have made 2 weeks supply of fruit based desserts that aren't fattening, but sweet and it gets rid of the cravings.|||I think what is happening is that you are not eating enough calories and youre blood sugar is dropping. Try eating small meals between breakfast and lunch and see if this will help you. I hope this will help you.|||Thats easy! I did the same thing. The healthy breakfast and lunch are wack! =) plain and simple. you crave that delicious thick non-bland pizza b/c the other stuff tastes like cardboard. It makes sense that you do pig out. Your best bet is maybe a slim fast diet where you can still have the pizza and dessert for dinner. A semi-fast where the calories at dinner won't hurt so much.

Also make sure the excercise builds lean muscle so at the very least you will maintain the weight until you can get on a health eating roll. Then you will be a lean, mean, pizza resisting machine! well, at least the pizza won't hurt as much.|||after eating healthfully at breakfast and lunch, perhaps after putting in a whole day working, going to school, taking care of kids...whatever...maybe you feel you deserve a reward and by dinnertime u r hungry already and have to eat, so you over-consume the quick and satisfying foods. maybe if you pre-determine what reward you will have after your day but before dinner, you will avoid the eating habits you prefer to avoid. another thing that might help, is to make up nutritious meals ahead of time and freeze them for the week, like soups or whatever, or have healthy store bought frozen ones on hand for quick and easy access to your dinner. a candle at the area u eat at is quick, special and calming too. best to you|||I think it is something to do with the night and the 13th uncountable hour and the last chance before health for breakfast again and too much time to dwell on it with no place but bed to move on to. I have the same trouble every night. I get stuck staring in the fridge and scrumaging through the cupboard for something unhealthy. I nibble on lettuce and celery or broccoli or pinapple or almonds or water but the desire for something just something bad just won't go away but then the thought of waking up to the thought of having committed to it puts me in an impossible trap because it makes the next day so much harder so I usually just have to run and hide in bed. It is so weird though how some times in your life it is so much harder than others to run away from it. Maybe clean your teeth early and find something really absorbing to do that you just can't eat and do at the same time.

Why do most schools offer junk food to our kids?

There are some schools who worry about their kids but in general the majority of schools give them donuts for breakfast or pizza for lunch... How can I start a petition into getting good/healthy food for the kids?Obesity is way up in the elementary schools because of the junk they are given.Where should I begin?|||Donuts for breakfast? My daughter's school doesn't offer those. They do serve pizza once a week, but eating one slice a pizza for lunch once a week will not cause obesity. Almost everyday they serve a pretty balanced meal with a meat, fruit, veggie, and milk. Everyday they also have pre-prepared salads as an alternative to the meat.

If you're concerned about the meals they serve, start talking to other parents at your child's school and get their opinoin. If they agree, then try starting a petition for healthier meals. The best way is to write a letter with the PTA stating what you want (balanced lunch, less junk food choices) and they can help circulate this letter to every parent. Once you have enough signatures of agreement, take it to your school district (meals are not planned my individual schools, it's by district)|||You are certainly not the only parent at your school concerned about this. Childhood obesity has become an epidemic in this country, and a lot of people worry about the long-term effects of poor diet. Parents at many school districts have pushed for changes in their school-lunch policies, with varying degrees of success.

First, find out whether there is already a move to press the school district for healthier meals. If so, get involved in it. The parent-teacher association is a good place to start. If nobody is currently agitating for change, talk to some parents about the issue and recruit some allies.

If you truly wish to effect change, your best strategy is to become part of an organization involved in the educational process. Again, the PTA is that organization in most districts. Join, go to the meetings, and bring up the issue when appropriate. Drum up support parent by parent, PTA officer by PTA officer, until you have enough to make an official appeal to the school district’s governing board. Do your research and equip yourself with both statistics on the dangers of junk food and specific alternatives to the current system.

Sure, you can go door to door and get signatures on a petition. But such petitions tend to work better when backed by a logical, fact-supported argument and presented by a respected organization at a public forum designed for such debate, like a school board meeting.|||Even junk food is healthy if it is made with good ingredients.

Pizza is not unhealthy, you just consider it unhealthy because children like it.

What is unhealthy about tomatoes, bread, and cheese. All of these ingredients are good for you.

Try to pull your head out for a moment, catch your breath and think clearly before re-inserting it.

Actually, half of the "obesity epidemic" is fueled by ignorance, some people have a genetic disposition to be big, don't believe me? Take a look at the next fat kid you see's baby pictures and I bet it will be a chubby baby.

The point being, stop watching so much day time television.|||The schools have nutrition standards they have to follow and normally have to hit all the food groups. They may be given a pizza but normally it comes with milk and fruit of some sort. Also, many schools these days have options. At all of my children's schools (ones in 2nd grade and the other one is in Kindergarten) they get many choices. For example if pizza is offered that day another meal similar will be offered, cheese sandwiches, ham sandwiches, or even salads (with meat or not). So its then up to your child to pick the better meal. Also, if you don't like the meals the school offers its up to you to provide their lunch then!|||You are so right to be concerned about this. Experts are saying that if something doesn't change, our children's lifespans will be shorter than ours because of obesity with school lunches being a major culprit.

This is a perfect time to get involved in improving lunches in your school because a lot is happening out there. There are a number of parents in other school districts who have improved lunches in their schools. You could reach out to some of these districts or other resources listed in the article below to get information and then take it to your PTO. I know cost is always an issue but in all of these cities, parents and the school were able to find local vendors to help pay for the effort.

    See below for an article.

Good luck.|||My entire state banned junk food from all schools, even sodas and other carbonated beverages. They don't sell cookies, donuts or anything that's bad for you anymore. You should begin by joining the PTA and proposing to the other PTA members that you all need to do something about the food situation. Then you start a petition and get all the parents to agree, then take it to the Superintendent.|||it comes down to budgets. Its much cheaper and eaier to make a pizza or chicken nuggets or dunuts than serve vegetables, or steamed food etc.

They are mass producing food and it needs to be easily made and chea. I read somewhere that a normal school lunch only cost pennies per kid.

You can start a petition in your school and once you have enough names go to the school district but without a big increase in funds I dont think it'll change much. Our schools budgets just cut by a lot this year so I'm expecting the same crap on the lunch than on the previous years|||They don't in our school's.

    Its Healthy School Dinners.

    Rules;

Every child must have 1 portion of vegetables %26amp; 1 portion of fruit at lunchtime.

    Fizzy pop/chocolate/sweets/crisps are banned.

The only morning snack allowed is fruit.

Friday, chips are on the menu... thats the only junk food they are given.

Thank God the meals have changed. I remember just a few years ago, my kids were given burger and chips everyday!

As for your concerns, does your child's school have a board of parent governors, or some kind of group, where parents can give their ideas on how to help the school. I would bring it up, or write a letter to the head teacher, or even get the local paper involved?|||its because junk food is cheaper for the schools. in this economy its not about health its about price and conveinece. if you want to s tart a petition with your school i suggest you do research. contact some local farms or grocery stores (bigger chains are better) about donating fruits/veggies and whole grains. i would also look in to time efficient recipes the lunch ladies can cook. you might even want to suggest the school have a garden. this will show the kids about how the veggies grow and then they can make foods with it. i just think if you go to the school with a list of 1500 names and say we all dont like the menu, then they may say what do you suggest ...you should have suggestions. i looked at the menus for the schools in my area on line. my son is only 19 months but i was just curious. everyday week there entrees are either pizza, tacos or nuggets. i feel that is unacceptable and will be supplying my kids with their lunch. and allow them to purchase lunch once a week.|||I know that the schools offer junk food, but at the elementary schools here, they normally limit the servings. (Unless its the cart that sells them for extra money)

Seriously? Schools come to donuts for breakfast now? I would go to the office and ask for a print out of the lunch schedule for a few weeks... make copies and go from there. Inform the other parents what their children are eating if its everyday.|||Obesity is way up because of crummy parenting and lack of self control being instilled in the children. Parents are too worried about "self esteem" and not worried enough by the fact that little timmy wants a mini fridge for his bedroom for his birthday.

Don't blame the schools.|||Because the parents let them, and thats all the parents are willing to pay for when it comes to both lunch money and property taxes/referendums|||Often, junk food is cheaper, can be bought in bulk and frozen.

Instead of starting a petition, just make lunch for your child.

All the best.|||I'd start with the PTA. Chances are there are more parents who are concerned.|||Kids like junkfood and school like money.|||Kid's like it that's why.
