Is it ok to feed my dog frosted flakes and milk for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and fried rice for dinner?

I love my dog, and he seems to love what he eats too!

It's not always pizza, or fried rice, but I usually give him whatever we're having for dinner or lunch, and if it's not good for dogs, like fish or chicken, I heat up kids cuisine for him like mac and cheese, fish sticks, pizza, etc.

he's a year old pomeranian by the way.

Could this be harmful to him?

Yes it can be harmful to them. There's a reason there's food for people and food for dogs. If your dog eats whatever you and your family eats each day then he can get problems with digestion and the health of different things like their fur, teeth, eyes and bones. My step mom's little terrier has rotten teeth because his previous owner fed him just those kinds of things instead of dog food.



You can give them little treats here and there but try not to feed them your family's food or else they'll just not eat their dog food and get spoiled and unhealthy :/ There are special things you can put on your dog's foods to make them more appealing, like liquid toppings or a canned food to be mixed with their dog food which will also be good for them.Is it ok to feed my dog frosted flakes and milk for breakfast, pizza for lunch, and fried rice for dinner?
Really, really, really not. Dogs have completely different dietary need that humans and this diet is completely wrong and very harmful to your dog.



You should be feeding your Pomeranian dog food and if he's one year old - meaning that he is an adult - he should only be fed once per day. Two very good dog food brands are Hills and Royal Canin. They are good quality foods that are healthy for your dog. The actual foods that I would recommend from these brands are either Hills Science Plan Mini Adult or Royal Canin Mini Adult.



Many people think that it is better for dogs to eat twice or three times per day, like humans, however it is actually quite unhealthy for the dog. In the wild wolves and wild dogs hunt and kill once during the day. All of the pack will then eat their fill and then all of them will sleep for the rest of the day. This is how domestic dogs should be treated too. Sure, they don't have to hunt and kill their meal, but they should only get one per day.

ARE YOU CRAZY!? Thats really shortening the dogs life and thats not fair. Your really lucky that he's only a year. especially since you claim to know nothing about taking care of a dog. Start him on dog food asap, or else, get rid of the dog before you cause serious damage.
you can do it but you are probably shortening the dog's life ... a neighbour had a sheltie who never had dog food once ... only ate what the family was eating ... that dog died at 7 years old ... which is my understanding way younger than normal ... but in short, yes it is harmful unless you only want the dog for a few years ...
A dog's nutritonal needs are far different from our own so.... I just hope you are joking and if not then get the dog onto dog food, or go completely raw diet or you obviously don't love your dog enough.

You won't need to worry about it for much longer because on that diet your dog will be lucky to live to 3 years of age.
